Claudia Anderson


Claudia Anderson is a Professor in the Performance Department of The Theatre School, DePaul University, Chicago. She was designated as a Linklater Voice Teacher in 1991. She also holds certifications in Acting and Singing the Archetypes with Frankie Armstrong and Janet Rodgers and Phonetic Pillows. She has studied voice with Richard Armstrong and many singing teachers, including Calvin Remsberg and Gillian Kelly. She has coached dialects in Los Angeles and Chicago, recently working with productions at Court Theatre and Paramount Theatre.

A founding member of the Voice and Speech Trainers Association, she directed the international VASTA conference in 2016, and served on the Board in the early 1990's. Passionate about song writing, folk and traditional song, she often works with Frankie Armstrong, Janet Rodgers, Judith Shahn, Sue Demel, and singer-songwriter Kat Eggleston. Currently she is performing her show, Out of the Mouth of a Woman. Focused on traditional Irish/Scots folk songs, combining personal memoir with the template of the neo-pagan Triple Goddessmaiden, mother, cronethe narrative follows a heroines journey through a womans life. Her first CD of original songs, titled In dreams I can fly, came out in 2011.
