CONNECT:

Deborah (Deb) Deb is a voice, singing and dialect coach. She joined the BA Acting voice team at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2019.   Prior to that she was a faculty member for six years at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama IRCSSD) as Lecturer in Voice on the MA/MFA Voice Studies programme. She continues to work there as a visiting lecturer on both the Voice Studies; BA Acting (Collaborative and Devised Theatre) and the MA Music Theatre programmes.   She also has a private voice coaching practice.

She trained and worked as an actor and singer before returning to study to complete a music degree and then went on to graduate with an MA in Voice Studies at RCSSD.  This reawakened her love of text and language and extended her understanding of voice.  It also provided a springboard for her to teach both spoken and sung voice and the areas in between which is part of her ongoing practice inquiry.   Linklater voice work has further enriched this process and it underpins all aspects of her coaching.

Deb is a composer with a particular interest in writing music for the stage.

She’s a member of Equity, British Voice Association and VASTA.
