Two Exciting Courses with Merry Conway and Kristin Linklater for July 2017!

Posted by Super User on October 27, 2016

Merry Conway and Kristin Linklater team-up to deliver exciting learning opportunities for July 2017!

When Kristin and Merry teach together magic happens. Their collaborative movement and voice work delivers creative and transformative results. Merry’s movement-for-actors’ work developed out of Trish Arnold’s original approach and from her experience working with Jacques LeCoq. She has taught at Carnegie-Mellon, the London Guildhall School and the Drama Studio among other theatre schools, and she runs her own inspiring workshops around the USA and Europe. Merry is also a deeply original researcher into the practice of comedy in Shakespeare and has invented her own inimitable exercises in clowning. She has been “Clownmaster” at Shakespeare and Company and movement and acting coach for the LA Women’s Shakespeare Company.

Exploring Shakespeare’s Comedy – Conway and Linklater

In this workshop Merry Conway and Kristin Linklater bring Shakespeare’s comedy to life through body and voice. The workshop will focus on short comic scenes from Shakespeare with scenes to be assigned after your arrival. You can choose your own comic monologue to work on if you wish and have it benefit from the input of two renowned experts in their respective fields.

Movement and Voice – Conway and Linklater

This innovative workshop accelerates and enlivens the actor’s voice and body training process through a combination of Merry’s approach to freeing the actor’s body and Kristin’s methods for freeing the voice. Merry will teach the exercise and swing-work developed by Trish Arnold and evolved by Merry into unique processes of her own. Kristin threads her own well-known approach into Merry’s work. The two inspirational teachers have interwoven their teaching to create something truly special – not to be missed!
